Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority (TIRA) was established under Section 5 of the Insurance Act No. 10 of 2009 which provides as follows:

(1) There is established a body to be known as the Tanzania Insurance Regulatory Authority.

(2) Subject to the general supervision of the Minister, the Authority shall be charged with the responsibility of coordinating policy and other matters relating to insurance in the United Republic.

Tanzania energy- Policy

Petroleum, hyower and coal are the major source of commercial energy in the country. The biomass energy resource, which comprises fuel-wood and charcoal from both natural forest and plantations, accounts for 93 per cent of total energy consumption.

Petroleum is imported. The transport sector is the main consumer of petroleum products. Presently only 70 per cent of the demand for petroleum is met. There are a number of companies exploring for oil, but so far no positive results have been found. However natural gas, which is available, is to be the likely substitute for oil.

Electricity subsector contributes about 0.6 per cent of total energy consumption. Electricity is mainly generated from hyower - which is prone to draught effects- so some thermal power stations have been installed. There are.

Tanzania education authority- what we do

TEA is a corporate body established under section 5(1) of the Education Fund Act No. 8 of 2001 to manage the Education Fund.

Our role is to work together with the Government, Public and other partners to solicit resources for Education Fund and effectively deploy the resources to facilitate Education Projects through providing loans and or grants to schools, colleges and universities.
