By: Peter Nyanje It has been a while since this column ran an article. In fact, since The Citizen introduced a new design, I have barely been at the office. There are valid reasons as to why I stopped writing for some time. The reasons include commitments, which I cannot describe here, that robbed me of time to pen down something for this invaluable space. However, time has allowed me to sort out the issues and here I am ready to continue with the work I have been entrusted with. I hope we will be able to carry on with emerging discourse. It is sad that the return of this column comes at a time of great sorrow for the East African region. Like millions of other people, I was shocked and disappointed by the recent disasters that hit two East African countries. First, we were hit by the Zanzibar ferry tragedy which claimed more than 200 lives. While we were still contemplating what had happened in Zanzibar, fire. |
