Bajaj Auto
has started assembling two and three wheeler vehicles in Tanzanian. The company
initially launched a produce in the Tanzanian auto market about 18 months back
and able to witness a decent sales.
The company is currently selling vehicles via CBU route with the help of a
local dealer named Fair Deal Auto Pvt. Ltd which is located in Dar-es-Salaam,
the largest and richest city in Tanzania.
Bajaj Auto will now setup its 1st assembling unit in Tanzania at a cost of
$20-million. Mr. Pulkit Kapani, International Business Manager, Bajaj Auto,
said, “We have started simple assembling of some parts at our plant in
Mikocheni.” He also added that Bajaj is on the verge of launching a new 3
wheeler auto rickshaw with double headlights in Tanzania.
